This workshop was held in Nuku’alofa, Tonga from 30th of April to the 4th of May 2018. The objective of the weeklong workshop was to train the SAI auditors on ISSAI based compliance and financial audit methodologies and prepare them for conducting the pilot audits. Nine compliance auditors and five financial auditors participated in the workshop. TOAG, IDI, and PASAI secretariat have signed an agreement to achieve the objectives of the stage II support and timely completion of the activities.
Earlier in 2017, SAI Tonga has completed the mapping exercise of its audit practices under stage I of this support and identified its ISSAI implementation strategies, which the SAI will align with while preparing its new strategic plan. Based on the achievements and outputs of stage II, IDI will determine the need to provide support for stage III of ISSAI implementation support. The representatives of PASAI secretariat Mr. Eroni Vatuloka and Ms. Sinaroseta Iosefo were present at the workshop.
