From the 5th to the 7th December 2017 the SAI PMF Unit within IDI held a basic training course on the SAI PMF assessment objectives, methodology and process. The course was held at the Sheraton Casablanca hotel, Morocco. The SAI of Morocco kindly hosted this meeting and provided excellent on-site support. A total of 37 SAI representatives took part in the course. Delegates came from all over the Arabosai region, namely from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Sudan and Tunisia. The training was provided by a group of IDI and external facilitators, including resource persons from SAI Tunisia and SAI Saudi Arabia. The course was well received by participants, who engaged in fruitful discussions and shared interesting insights from their SAIs. It ended with a lively simulation of a legislative debate on the merits of the SAI PMF tool, which was much enjoyed by participants and highlighted key advantages of applying the SAI performance measurement framework.
