Fourteen members of staff representing different roles, levels and perspectives participated in the event, which was supported by experts from IDI, AFROSAI-E and the Office of the Auditor General of Norway as part of the Accelerated Peer-Support Partnership programme.
The primary objective of the week was to identify strategic outcomes, outputs and capacities for the next five years, building on recent stakeholder consultations, environmental analysis and a comprehensive needs assessment process completed late last year. Participants also discussed the office’s vision, mission and values, as well as risks, risk mitigation strategies and possible success indicators.
The workshop was followed by the first-ever NAO Partners meeting on 19 March. This meeting—chaired by The Auditor General and held at the new office building—brought together eight development partners interested in strengthening the NAO’s oversight role and ensuring that capacity building efforts are SAI-led, informed and coordinated.
