The 8th INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation Steering Committee Meeting took place in Brasilia, Brazil, 6-7 October 2015. It was hosted by the Tribunal do Contas da Uniao (TCU) of Brazil.

In his welcoming speech, the President of TCU, Mr. Aroldo Cedraz, highlighted the many positive results achieved through the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation and confirmed the dedication of TCU to implement the principles of the 2009 MoU. He emphasized how the SAI Performance Measurement Framework (SAI PMF) has proven to be a useful tool for the TCU and several other SAIs in the OLACEFS region.

Dr. Osama Faquih, INTOSAI Chair of the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation, thanked Mr. Cedraz for the warm reception and generous hospitality in hosting the 8th Steering Committee Meeting and highlighted to the Steering Committee (SC) that joint efforts were needed to achieve optimal results in the next phase of the Cooperation. In her opening remarks Ms. Jennifer Thomson, Donor Chair of the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation, referred to the many achievements of the Cooperation to date. She reminded the SC that the ultimate goal of the Cooperation is to improve the lives of citizens through strengthening SAIs independent public sector auditing.

Brazil, October 8—The 8th Steering Committee Meeting of the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation took place on October 6-7, 2015. Over 50 representatives from the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the international donor community confirmed the Cooperation’s strategic direction to enhance support for capacity building of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs). The Minister President of the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil, Aroldo Cedraz, hosted the meeting.

The 8th Steering Committee Meeting of the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation will be hosted by the Tribunal de Contas da União – Brazil on the 5-7 October 2015 in Brasilia, Brazil. A total of 50 INTOSAI and donor representatives are expected to attend the meeting, which will take stock of the achievements of the Cooperation since the 7th Steering Committee meeting in Paris in 2014.
